About Hawke and Dove

Posted by hdadmin on March 26th, 2007

Attacus Delphinius Dove is a fellow at the American Centered Progressiveness Institute, a frequent contributor to progressive newsweekly Leftista, and was a campaign advisor for Jerry Brown in his successful bid for Mayor of Oakland. He is Professor Emeritus of Quantum Religious Parapsychiatric History at Evergreen College in Olympia, Washington, having received his Masters Degree From the History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is co-founder of Women’s International Mentoring for Peace, or WIMP. As a toddler, Dove frolicked around Haight-Ashbury, forming the first anti-nuclear group at his grammar school. He has meditated with Yoko Ono, Ravi Shankar and George McGovern.

Brick Hawke is a self-made bastion of patriotism. He is the author of several best-selling books, including “In Defense of Jingoism,” “Hitler’s Fatal Failure - Where The Reich Went Wrong” and “Faster Progressives, Die Die Die!” He can be heard on the American Freedom Network, as the outspoken host of “Hawke Talk!” He’s a member of Project for an All American Century and the American War Institute, and he was special advisor to the Oliver North for Senate campaign. Brick hails from the great state of Arizona, and was a volunteer for the Nixon presidential campaign several times: as a child in 1968, a pre-teen in 1972 and as a lone fanatic in 1988. He has enjoyed hunting, cigars and arguments with such noted conservatives as William F. Buckley, Barry Goldwater and Dick Clark.

Myron Bunkerling began his broadcasting career in Junior High School, where he was randomly selected to read morning announcements. When the faculty discovered that his soft & steady tone acted as a sedative to the other students, he was given the post indefinitely. He attended Western Manhattan University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Public Radio Moderation with a minor in Veterinary Science. His previous programs on National Public Internet include “Myron’s Meow Mix” and “The United Federation of Planets Weekly.” He lives alone in Koreatown with his 37 cats and Guinness record-holding Lite Brite memorabilia collection.

THE ORIGIN OF HAWKE & DOVE
Hawke & Dove met during the 2000 Florida Recount Debacle. Both were incarcerated for separate incidents. Brick Hawke was held on accusations that he had disrupted the peace by encouraging citizens to mount an invasion of Cuba; Attacus Dove had expressed his discontent at the resolution of the election by defecating on Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris’s porch. Thrown into the same cell and impressed by each other’s ability to debate, Hawke and Dove decided to combine their punditry into the overwhelming juggernaut of conflicting thought we now know and love.

The Hawke and Dove podcast is hosted by National Public Internet correspondent Myron Bunkerling.

Written and performed by Michael Faulkner, Mike Ross and Hal Lublin.
